Iron Chef Bobby Flay is admittedly one of the stars of the Food Network. Aside from having the distinction as one of the Iron Chefs, he also hosts Throwdown, a cooking and baking show where he pits his skills against “lesser known” culinary geniuses and baking greats.
This time he challenged Augusta’s Vera Stewart, owner of Very Vera, to a carrot cake throwdown.
I guess Bobby made the wrong choice for a challenger because Vera’s carrot cake was judged to be better than his.
While this is not the first loss for Bobby Flay, having lost also to Joe Barnett of Washington, Georgia for his famous shrimp and grits back in 2009, the win for Vera Stewart will certainly open more doors for her outside Augusta where she is already well known for her mouth-watering desserts.
Well, she’s certainly off to a good start after winning against Bobby Flay, a Food Network stalwart.
