US Open 2010 Women’s Finals Today: Clijsters vs Zvonareva – The US Open 2010 women’s finals will be held today at the Arthur Ashe Stadium, 7:00 PM. It will be a match between number 2 seed Kim Clijsters and number 7 seed Vera Zvonerava.

Clijsters demolished Venus Williams during the Semifinals yesterday in 3 sets. This is the second time in a row that Venus Williams had been eliminated in the US Open.

Kim Clijsters will be up against a formidable opponent, Zvonerava who managed to win twice against her in their last two meetings at Wimbledon and Montreal quarters, both in three sets.

With this matchup, analysts are saying that Zvonereva has an edge over Clijsters. In overall rivalry standings, Zvonereva is ahead, 5-2, including a 6-4 in the third-set victory over the Russian back at the 2002 US Open. However, it seems that Clijsters had become the favorite during the US Open 2010 because she had shown a higher level of play and energy compared to Vera. Clijsters had also won the US Open twice already.
