Unemployment Extension Bill HR 4213 Became a Law: What About the 99ers?

July 25, 2010 by · 45 Comments

Unemployment Extension Bill HR 4213 Became a Law: What About the 99ers? – A lot of unemployed Americans cheered Thursday afternoon when the much awaited Unemployment Extension Bill finally became a law as Obama signed it as soon as the House passed.

The bill underwent three days of  rigorous debate in the Congress. The first was from the Senate last Tuesday when the Republican filibuster was finally countered through the appointment of Senator Carte Goodwin who replaced the late Robert Byrd from West Virginia. Democrats won the first unemployment extension vote at 60-40.

The next day, another debate was held in the Senate for amendments made in the bill. Before the day ended, the bill moved closer to its passage after a 59-39 vote. Then the last approving authority, the House of Representatives finally approved it the day after that pushing the bill to Obama’s desk for his signature to become a law.

While some of the unemployed Americans would now be receiving their unemployment benefits, the 99ers, those unemployed people that have received 99 weeks of unemployment benefits would still be in their previous situation as this bill won’t provide any unemployment benefits for them. It could have been better if this bill is a Tier 5 unemployment extension but it’s not.

In addition, the key for those eligible unemployed Americans who are still in their Tier 1 to Tier 4 of unemployment benefits is to determine the current unemployment rates of their states. For those living in high unemployment rate states, meaning above 8.5%, 99 weeks would be maximum amount of time an unemployed individual could receive unemployment benefits. However, for those ones living in low unemployment rate states which is below the 8.5% threshold, 86 weeks would be the maximum amount of time.

Moreover, two additional unemployment benefits available previously were cut off in this bill -  the Federal Additional Compensation Program providing an extra of $25 per week of unemployment benefits payments and COBRA.

Since this unemployment extension bill is not a Tier 5 and would just extend the filing deadline for unemployment insurance benefits which expired last June 2 to until November 30, all unemployed Americans would become 99ers come the end of November. By that time, the Congress would debate again for another unemployment extension bill that would provide unemployment benefits to millions of unemployed Americans.

Do you think that come November, America has enough jobs for all unemployed individuals? Will the unemployment rates decrease by that time? I think the Congress would need to make another bill by that time. Since the Senate elections are scheduled to be held on November 2, 2010 for 37 of the 100 seats in the United States Senate, our politicians, especially the Republicans, should do their best to address this growing concern of the unemployed voters.

  1. Dorothy says:

Thank you for your article Mr.Crowshield. You are exactly right, the unemployed who now exhausted 99 weeks are in a desperate situation. Many have applied for hundreds of jobs, but when the norm is 200, 300, even 400 applications per opening… it’s very difficult. Through no fault of their own the 99ers now face homelessness and hunger and life on the street. Many are older workers, or workers who have not been able to find work for too long and so are rejected by prospective employers, ironically because the longer one is unemployed the harder it becomes to get hired.

The population of long term unemployed will grow exponentially in the next few months as those who lost thier jobs at the beginning of this Great Recession pass the 99 week mark. It’s estimated that already 3 to 4 million are in this situation already. They are living the American nightmare although they have worked, many have degrees, they have done everything right… yet now they have nothing and little hope, according to economists, that this jobless economy will recover anytime soon. For the older worker, perhaps never. These are stark facts which millions of Americans are facing today.

Sen. Schumer of New York announced today in an interview with WENY-TV that he and some of his colleagues in the Senate have legislation to extend benefits beyond 99 weeks, i.e. the Tier 5 extension.

We applaud his efforts to put this legislation forward. We would like him and other Senators who are working on this to move quickly. Everyday counts for the long term unemployed, we need this proposal to be introduced as soon as possible and before the Senate and House leave for summer vacation.

The bill signed to renew Tier 1-4 extensions is to be applauded, but we are not done yet. Lets not forget the 99ers, we need legislation to alleviate them during this great emergency.

    Thank you for your article.

  2. paul maclane says:

I strongly agree with your Mr. Crowshield. And just like what Dorothy said in her comment, the signed bill to renew the Tier 1 to 4 extensions should be applauded.

  3. S Zacchia says:

I feel this whole bill is absolutely ridiculous- If you sit down and figure out exactly what they voted to approve you’ll see that although it may give some unemployed persons their benefits which is great it will not allow anyone who as of 6-1-2010 opened an initial claim to the FAC benefit of $25 per week because they totally threw that out 6 months ui benefits would end one day after the deadline as described in this bill. Extended or Emergency benefits end 11-30-2010 This was very deliberate and sneaky to only extend to Nov not Dec.. I missed the FAC by applying one day too late, I hope not to be unemployed come end of Nov but I sure could have used the xtra money on each check.

  4. Glenn B N.J. says:

I could care less which party does what. Give us ALL jobs or give us unemployment. At this point the lies to America must stop. The truth must be reported by mainstream media (ABC, CBS, and NBC) the only person close to this is Ed Schultz MSNBC. How can something as bad as the numbers of unemployed (millions) not be in the news or receive a Google page 1 paragraph. Everyday on Google you have to search for unemployment information. When the truth is told the facts should include ALL of the unemployed, not those confusing Tiers but include those over 99 weeks.
They not only lie about the recovery effort but they lie about the help being given. Most Americans think there are jobs available and we would rather collect unemployment. The current bill HR – 4213 is only an EXTENSION of the Tiers 1 thru 4. This does not cover those requiring a tier 5 (over 99 weeks unemployed – 99ers). The passing of this bill misleads America into believing all unemployed are receiving help. When this bill is passed we will still have to wait for ANOTHER bill to be passed for us 99ers. In addition people covered by this bill may soon become 99ers as well. If you have 98 paid weeks and this bill is passed you will only receive 1 week of pay. Then you too will become a 99er without a check!
The 99ers will then have to wait for another bill with a Tier 5 to be created. Then there’s the August recess. (another vacation break). This will probably be done months from now just in time for the November elections. By then there will be millions on welfare and homeless. Congress, the Senate, both Presidents all know the truth, so how do they keep UPI, Reuters and Google from covering our plight. The truth is out there.

    To the President:
How can you congratulate each other for the approval of a half completed bill forgetting the 99ers and the Tier 5 unemployment extension? As far as I’m concerned your approval rating is 0%. We definitely want the Republicans out. Your weak lack of leadership during this unemployment situation and the spineless Democrats not requesting help for a Tier 5 and the 99ers is unforgivable. What I have noticed is when a problem has been resolved then and only then do you stand a take credit. Remember those extensions you signed only last until November and you know sufficient jobs will not appear by then. By then there will be more people reaching 99 weeks then ever. How stupid do you think we are? I don’t know what Americans you’re patting yourselves on the back for helping but we were not just thrown in front of the bus but mowed-ed down and left for dead. You need you to stand up now. Not after someone else resolves the problem and you once again take credit. It’s a time for change all right! Change all of you right out of office!

WELL SAID, totally agree with you, there is no jobs here in FL. I have 2 boys and 1 more on the way and my husband has been out of work since Jan. 08, it stinks we were forced out of our home and had to move in with my parents and my brother lives her to with his wife and now my fathers brother will be moving in and I cant stand it, fighting all the time because of money and each other, if u know what I mean.

    • kgent says:

I totally agree. I’m recieving regular UI now,but I understand were you’re coming from. The republicans gave democrats no choice. Senators snow and collins would’nt vote for bill wiyh the tier 5 extension. And as we all know the bill needed to reublicans to vote for it.This may not be what you want to hear ,but the democrats fought the fight they knew they could win. Remember come november we need to more seats in senate ,and we must maintain majority in house .EVERYONE HAS TO VOTE COME NOVEMBER SO THE CRAP DOES’NT HAPPEN AGAIN.

  6. does any one know if virginia has a tier 4?

    • cliff says:

not 100% sure, but i think that because the unemployment rate in virginia is at about 7% only tier 1 and 2 apply to us here in the commonwealth. i will tell you not to take this as gospel though because like i said i don’t no for sure.

    • laura says:

VA has TIERS I. II, III and a tier called Extended Benefits and that is it….so their is a forth tier sort of the extended benefits goes of your previous unemployment allotment….hope this helps

  7. Thaonebornstar says:

I myself am a 99er. The bill that just passed IS NOT FOR 99ERS. That’s just horrible! And to make it even worse, I hear they’re going to backpay benefits. BENEFITS WERE NOT BACKPAID TO US WHO RECEIVED TIER 4 IN NOVEMBER OF 2009. Not that I’m not happy for any persons caught in this struggle, but wow! What about people who suffered evictions, homeforeclosures, & car repossessions in the winter of last year? Again I’m truly happy if anyone on unemployment receives extensions in these hard to deal with times. But I just think that’s another slap in the face to 99ers. To not have received retro pay in Nov of 09 & in July of 2010 to NOT EVEN BE CONSIDERED FOR EXTENSIONS is mind bobbling!!! Especially when the government knows exactly what the unemployment rate is in every city & every state! When the government knows how some employers are DENYING THE UNEMPLOYED EMPLOYMENT. By posting their job ads that read: “UNEMPLOYED NEED NOT APPLY.” That’s just horrible! And should be illegal! But no, it’s perfectly legal. There’s no law that prohibits employers from denying unemployed persons work. Which in turn keeps us 99ers deeper & deeper in the hole! How are we supposed to get back to work when the government tolerates this??? We are out there searching for work just like the other unemployed people on lessor tiers. ARE WE NOT IN THE SAME BOAT??? ARE WE NOT IN THE SAME COUNTRY??? ARE WE NOT IN THE SAME RECESSION??? IS THE RECESSION OVER??? Absolutely not!!! And we need those benefits to survive just like the others who are on lessor tiers. People, look we must all stand up & fight this battle together. Everybody hold hands & let our voices be heard from coast to coast! I have a couple of unemployment videos I would like you to see. Im so confused.I live in Tn and have been out of work since Nov. 2008,but didn’t start collecting until 2009. I have a contact at the unemp.office where he is telling me that EU (emergency unemployment) Tier 4 is considered a “99er”. If I count the weeks of me being unemployed not including when I received my first check..it should only be 80 weeks at the end of July. Can anyone tell me if Im included in the new bill or am I considered a 99er?
Thank god my husband received a great job over the summer and is working his butt off to provide but this doesn’t leave any for gas, food ect. He obviously needs gas to get him back and forth, but after that their isn’t much to feed our two children. I sit at this computer all day long sending out resume after resume but can’t afford to go business to business to hand deliver. We thank god every day that his check covers the bills but over and over I have to tell my kids we can’t afford this or that. Now school is starting and they have no supplies ect. I have filed twice for food stamps but they don’t consider your bills that are necessities only what is coming in and I guess my husband makes too much.
Hang in there everyone and Im praying for jobs for everyone soon.
    God Bless

    • km says:

It depends on the unemployment rate in your state. If your state has 8.5% unemployment or over then you could possibly be eligible for up to 99 weeks of unemployment if congress votes to pay for this. If your state has under this unemployment rate. From the article:

In addition, the key for those eligible unemployed Americans who are still in their Tier 1 to Tier 4 of unemployment benefits is to determine the current unemployment rates of their states. For those living in high unemployment rate states, meaning above 8.5%, 99 weeks would be maximum amount of time an unemployed individual could receive unemployment benefits. However, for those ones living in low unemployment rate states which is below the 8.5% threshold, 86 weeks would be the maximum amount of time.

Even if Tennesee has under 8.5% unemployment, you would still be eligible for up to 86 weeks.

Good luck, scrimp as much as you can, and keep a positive attitude. It sounds as if you are doing that now but I know how hard it is to keep it that way.

  9. cashcqshel says:

I agree with the above article and comments. It is horribly short-sighted to merely extend the deadline for filing the present tiers until Nov. 1. This is a stop-gap measure, and is like trying to plug a leak in the damn by sticking your finger in the hole!

I have a PhD in Ed. Psych. and was laid off from 3 jobs in 18 months. No one will hire be at any level because I am “over qualified” for menial jobs, and there are 300 to 400 people applying for the very few jobs in field.

I also can’t not believe that Nobama, who passively sat on his bum during the wrangling, now tries to take credit after the fact. How dumb does he think we are?

Clearly, this era of joblessness is NOT coming to an end any time soon; for too soon those now receiving benefits also be living in 99erville, which is not a pleasant place to reside.

Our so-called “representatives” in Washington should look to their history books: in the past, when the balance (rather, imbalance) of wealth becomes to great, the starveling masses rise up against the small percentage of elite. Remember Rome?

When people on a large scale become totally disenfranchised, watch out! And remember, you are harming an awful lot of registered voters!

  10. Bikergirl says:

Glen B, you’re right on it! He only takes credit when the problen is solved. Obama needs to go with the Republicans! He is too weak to run this great country! I wish Bill Clinton would run again! But, I can only hope!

    • Alisa says:

I so totally agree with you that Clinton should be president again. At least he knew how to make sure we had a surplus of money saved up an then Bush comes in and blows it all away. Everyone forgets how Bush Sr put us in a war because he betrayed his friends in Iraq and then when Bush Jr comes in, that when they Iraq’s wanted revenge and it caused a terroist attack and put us in war AGAIN! I have been unemployed since Dec. ’08 and I can not get a job even at McDonald’s! I have an infant at home to provide for. I had to move all the way across the country to live with my fiance’s family in hopes to help them stay in their house and try to find jobs for my fiance and myself. I have been here in FL for about 7months and I am really thinking of moving back to AZ to live with my mom and be back by my family. I have had nothing but problems living with his family because not everyone contributes for the household and I have put in over $3,000 of my unemployment into the house and nothing to provide for my child and myself. I had been forced to let my fiance’s brother to use my second vehicle and he has not taken care of it and trashed it and put a shit lot of miles on it and won’t even pay for the maintenance on it nor pay for the insurance. But another thought is too that I think the government should really look into bringing back jobs in warehouses that we had here in the U.S but then decided to downside and move the plants overseas to let foreign countries take us(Americans) jobs…

  11. km says:

I am sorry for anyone who is out of a job. It is hard to change a way of living based on a job. However, no one is guaranteed a certain standard of living. The 99s I know expect exactly the same type of job at the same type of wages they previously owned. That is unrealistic. If you are one of these types of 99ers (and I’m not saying you are) then get real and repackage your experience and go where the jobs are. Maybe that means a move or less money; I’m sorry but you cannot expect the American people to bankroll you forever. The world changes and we all need to change with it, even if we don’t like the change.I worked a part-time job for 3 years and was very underemployed. It still beat being unemployed and I had to learn to deal with it. At the same time, my husband hasn’t had a raise in over 5 years. Yes, we are lucky to have jobs but that also means some very serious lifestyle changes. Out of work people need to consider those also. Once again, I am not saying all unemployed are not considering these things but I personally know of over 10 people out of work who will not. Taxpayers should not have to pay. This is America; we need to make our own living.

    • MAL says:

      Do you have children KM?
If so.. Maybe the next time the school your children goes too and the roof leaks in the school they attend.. The county and the district your children go too.. Should come to your door and ask you for a check to repair the roof that YOUR roof on the school that YOUR children are attending. And not ask for people who don’t have children for their tax dollars to fix it. If they have broken desk.. Your children can sit on the floor while they learn. Not ask tax payers that don’t have children to pay tax dollars to provide them desk to sit at. They can sit ON THE FLOOR and learn. How do you feel about that? You see a lot of people that are out of work have help provide thoise things for your children over the years. I hear people complaining about hand outs. I am not a 99er. But the last time i checked.. My unemployment chack i had to pay taxes on and claim it with the IRS as income. Which means.. The taxes i pay on my unemplyment check. Goes back into the econnomy and a % goes to School taxes. I don’t care if your children have to sit on the floor in the rain doing their school work while wrighting on berlap sack with a piece of charcole. It is funny how people are so easy to forget when the people out of work was benefiting things like that. I am a or was a engineer.. I payed more taxes in one pay period then some people made in a pay period. Maybe you should send you children to a privet school if you have any.. And not let the tax dollars pay for their books…. The roof over their head.. The desk they sit at.. The teachers they have. Wake the hell up and take a good look around you. Because that will come to a end too as long as the econnomy is weak and people can’t find work. Ohhhhhh Thats rite.. Maybe the Government will bail that out. I am sure you will be complaining then.

Just somthing to ponder on. :-) I hope you have a great day.

  12. jojo says:

Why cant we get an extension why is all this mumbo jumbo crap about t,ier what has that got to do with us?.We did not create this mess but at the same tone we have paid enough taxes for over 30 yrs
so why cant we get paid by the Govt we paid them so its their turn to pay us back instead of giving money to other countries why dont we come 1st we have suffered enough for the last 2yrs and its Payback Time.

  13. Mary says:

The bill should not have made in through with the milions and millions that are out of benefits. There is a serious job issue in this country and only a few on unemployement benefits will make it look like we have had a major recovery. I am afraid since all unemployed did not stick together it broke the camels back for evenually all unemployed.

  14. Annisette says:

I only have one week of Tier 3 UE left. I called DC unemployment a few weeks ago to find out if I was eligible for Tier 4 and they said no. They said my benefits will be exhausted after Tier 3. The DC website says that the six-week Tier 4 benefit is only for those whose benefits expired before May 22nd. A former co-worker of mine who got laid off three months before I did was eligible for Tier 4, but not me! She is currently on Tier 4 even though she got laid off three months before I did, and I am not eligible for Tier 4 because I was still collecting Tier 3 during May. I was hoping that I could move to Tier 4 after this, but DC said no. Now that new legislation has been passed, I am going to call them again to see if I can get anything. I cannot find a job even though I have excellent qualifications. I can’t even get as much as an interview, when in the past I was always able to get a good job in a week.

    • MAL says:

      To Annisette:
You should share that phone number you are calling in DC with other people who live in Virginia. Maybe they need more phone calls being the VEC wont let people file work searches. YOu know for a fact the VEC is swamped with calls about people that have exhausted the beniefits… Because all you get is a busy signal when you call.. Or it will tell you that the number can not be completed and call back later. It is almost like they just have their phone system roll rite over to a recorded system. Infact i have a firend that WAS in that line of work of setting up phone systems.. And he said you have the phones do anything you want. He said the busy signal is nothing more then a recording.

    • MAL says:

Why do you keep posting the same thing over and over Annisette? Share the number you are calling in Washington Dc with others.

  15. shorty says:

What the world I’m not understanding what they mean by saying if u exhasted ur extended benefits u won’t b eligible for retroactive payments we couldn’t pay our bills and everybody knows after 3 months u have nothing u r put out ur car is taken and if u have children “Lord have Mercy”.

  16. Harry says:

It no sooner than the new extension bill passes that people have been dropped off the system before it started in Ohio , Mich etc. without benefits exhausting notice. The new bill was helpful to a very few but in the upcoming weeks and months millions and millions more people are going to be exhausting their total benefits. ALL UNEMPLOYED better wise up and take a stand weather you have benefits now or not now is the time to let your elected officials know that we know the true numbers are soon going to be heard or else! We need to make sure all Media knows ALL Unemployed need help now with jobs and a lifeline that have exhausted or is exhausting benefits not November!

  17. MAL says:

I agree 100% that they need to create a tier V to support the 99s
This delima I am incountering at the moment.
I live in Virginia and I have exhausted my tier II benefits.
Virginia did away with tiers 3 and 4 months ago according
To the Richmond VA VEC office. I was informed that if the new bill
Does not include a tier 3 for the state of Virginia I will not qualify
For any further benefits. Which will put me in the same position
as the 99’ers. After only being able to collect 59 weeks of benefits.
Congress has left many loop holes in the bill for them to navigate
through. It is a shame it took them so long to pass this one small bill.
To some of the people with children who have been complaining that the extension should never of been passed for the extension. I hope your heads rest easy at night.
I don’t have children I have been working since I have been 15 years old and I am
46 now. I have had to pay school taxes all those years to make sure children.
Went to a school that had a roof on it that didn’t leak. To make sure they have books
In their libraries to use for study to better their education. Do think that is fare for me
To have to pay taxes dollars for that? How would it make you feel if you was told
You need to foot the bill yourselves because it is your child going to school not mine.
I don’t think that would go over to well. But being I am the person I am. One that believes
In YOUR children need a decent place to educate themselves I didn’t complain at all about
    Having to pay school taxes.

Just something for you to ponder on

I just left the unemployment office in illinois. They thats it for me, i will not be receiving shit else. i know no one gives a fuck! But all these weeks of waiting and hoping. and nothing!! but hey homelessness is a option now, for me and my child.

  19. dinicha says:

i feel if this bill is only going to be for a few ppl. then nobody should get shit!! how fair is that, thats bullshit!! and i came on to vent and express how i feel about this bs. i am pissed!!!! and if u are offended, oh well!! who cares!!!

  20. MAL says:

One of the problems i am finding in Virginia.
After a person exhaust their Tier II benefits
The VEC will not allow a person to file jobs searches.
Virginia doesn’t have a Tier III because they claim
the unemployment rate is below 8.0% so they did away
with the Tier 3 and Tier 4 Benefits. The US Bureau of Labor
Statistics claims the Unemplyment rate in Virginia is 7.0%
Those numbers CAN’T BE ACCURATE if the VEC is not allowing the
people who have axhausted their Tier II benefits to atleast
file jobs searches. How can they be coming up with accurate
numbers? Seems to be just another loop hole in the system for
    the politicians to navigate through.

  21. MAL says:

It is funny how everyone keeps saying ” What About The 99er’s”
I have only been able to collect 59 weeks of Benifits and i am
told i can’t claim any more. “WHAT ABOUT THE PEOPLE IN VIRGINIA
WHO CAN’T CLAIM ANY THING PAST A TIER II” ? Or is it that no one
really give a damn? I could only emagin what it would be like to
be able to collect benefits for another 40 weeks being the unemployment
rate in Virginia are just hypothetical numbers someone is pulling out
    of their ass.

  22. MAL says:

It is a damn shame our Government has let our economy collapse during a war.
When our economy has been based on war for centuries. That just proves they
Don’t know what in the hell they are doing. Oh thats rite.. The majority of manufacturing is contracted out to overseas companies now.

  23. kathleen says:

Death, suicide, yes these thoughts have become some our best friends. Each day milllions of us who once had somewhat of a normal life. nothing really fancy, just the average American, living the basic American life., now wake up with these thoughts, go to sleep with them and at times they huant us in our dreams,

For most of us, our lives will never ever be what they once were, not even close. Some of us will die from natural causes, preventable ones, but with out money to see a doctor or get the medications so many need to live a healthy life, death is just lurking around the corner. Maybe it;s the diabetic who doesn’t have the insulin needed to avoid a diabetic coma, maybe it’s as simple as, no money to get a script. then have to pay for that little blood pressure pill, you know, the one that keeps heart failure or a stoke from killing someone.

Then there’s the plight of those with families, or an older person of couple with no where to go, House is gone, couldn’t pay the mortage,
Rent wasn’t paid they were evicted, bound to learn to survive on the streets cause there are no shelters as cities are broke.. No car to even sleep in, it got repossed, savings are depleted. Young families are leaving their chilfren on doorsteps, church’s, maybe they are selling them so they can get a meal and a place to sleep. Hopefully those people who paid for those kids can give them a life they can no longer afford to do. Then there’s the really sick side, daughter’s are being used to prostitute themselves, to feed the family. Mom, dad finally can’t take it anymore, find some things to use to make a rope, wrap it around each other’s neck and kiss good bye, as they jump off a make-shift table.

In a quiet hotel room a young man sits, broken inside, all hopres and dreams he had while in college have been taken away. No more job, can’t face the family anymore, Friends have come and gone. He happened to rake up enough money collecting can’s, pan handling on the street, just enough to get enough drugs to sleep the endless sleep, and rent for a cheap hotel. Tonight, Death will find him and take him from this plight.

Yes this is the New America we have come to know. Unemployment checks have stopped, congress is to busy fighting with each other to do anything productive to help those whose jobs have disappeared, most never to return. Hell, why should they care they get their vacations. got nice homes, grest threads, lot’s of money and friend’s who even have more.

“No we can’t be giving those unempolyed people anymore money, hell they will just go out and buy drugs and get high. If we just keep giving them money they will never go to work, lazy good for nothin’s. And those people complaing they only got 99 weeks, hell they were lucky we gave that much to them. They just a bunch of middle aged whinner’s, living high on those checks we sent out. They think we should be telling our supporter’s to bring job’s back here, if we did that we would all lose our backer’s and we’d be out of office, nice thought just can’t be done. Just because Europe gives there unemployed up to 4 or 5 years of unempolyment they think we should be doing the same. We can’t force employer’s to not hire PT and pay a decent wage, that would be un-American. Sure be glad when all those worthless unemployed jerks, either drop dead go just fall off the face of the earth, won’t be long. There’s no way they can keep yaking once they are all on the street’s, they’ll be to busy trying to keep alive, then to find time to keep raising hell with us.” I’ll can hardly wait, I am up for re-lection this November and these guys are sure making my numbers look bad.”

Ye numbers are looking bad, for those who have “thrown us exhuastees under the bus.
And all who voted against extending benefirts. November is jsut around the corner and we have a big list with many X’s.

Many of you will be getting YOUR pink slips!

  24. S. Gaskins says:

I encourage all 99ers to fax, phone, e-mail Majority leader Harry Reid and ask him to keep congress in session to legislate an extension of benefits to the four million 99ers who are now without unemployment benefits and destitute. Give us a reason to come out with enthusiasm and vote in November.

    • MAL says:

If you are going to encourage people that much.. You should provide the phone number to call.

  25. MAL says:

I wonder how the senate would react
if all the unemployed sat around the steps
of the State Senate Building in Washinton
and not allow the senators to enter keeping them
from working? Well the people of the United States
wouldn’t actually be keeping them from working.
But it would keep them from lining there pockets.

I have been saying this for years and years.
We vote.. We vote them into office every election.

They work for us.. We don’t work for them.
If our Goverment thinks fighting a war in
the middle east is rough trying to protect OUR home
    land from terrorisim.

Wait until our owen home land breaks out into
    another Civil War.
It wont be a pretty sight. But that is the direction our Government is pushing people.

  26. MAL says:

You can cut this post or not.. But who ever this Mother****** is one most ignorant post i have read. They probley have 3 kids. And want to talk about bank rolling the unemployed with tax dollars.

I hope you have a great day.

I am sure they have no problem taking tax dollars from people to bank roll
their children to go to school.

I hate to say it.. I beleave in education.
    CUT SCHOOL TAXES
If you were adult enough to produce a child. Then you should adult enough to foot the bill
to educate them.. And Not let the people who don’t children BANK ROLL
    their needs for school.

    Some people are morons.
Thats is what is wrong with the economy now.
It’s all fine and dandy with them until it hits their home.
And then their story will hange real fast.

  27. MAL says:

I WANT MY TAX DOLLARS BACK I HAVE PAID INTO SCHOOL TAXES FOR THE PAST 30 YEARS BECAUSE I DON’T HAVE CHILDREN.

    JACK ASSES.

BTW MY PARENTS SENT ME TO A PRIVET SCHOOL.. LOL

  28. Tim says:

I really what to pay taxes after all this bullshit.

    • MAL says:

Oh i agree Tim.. But some people open there mouse trap not even thinking of how all the people who are laid off work. Paid tax dollars to benifit there children.
But as long as it doesn’t effect them. They don’t care. But personaly i do beleave.. If you have children. Why hit my pocket for tax dollars to provide them with a decent school to learn in with books. desks.. teachers. I would rather have that money in my pocket and walk down the street and give it to someone about to lose there house. That have children that are hungry. Electric is about to be turned off. Water about to be turned off. Before i got laid off on my annual review. I got a 3% raise on my annual salary. I asked them to please give that 3% to the single mother that is working down the hall trying to raise 2 children on her owen that got a 1% annual raise.

And some one like KM wants to make a comment about Bank Rolling.
While they are sucking up tax dollars for there kids to go to school?
Home teach them.. Send them to a privet school. How in the hell do
these people who complain about Bank Rolling the unemployed. When they take
there kids to the corner for the school bus to pick them up. I suppose the money
to put gas in the school bus just pops out of mid air like majic.. Not too mention
to have to pay someone to drive the bus.. And the bus it’s self.

Let them walk to School… I did when i was a kid.
Or the parents can get up early and drive them to school
using there owen gas and transportation.
Ohhhh.. Thats rite way would they want to do that..
When tax payers with out children are BANK ROLLING
those benifits to them. To provide “THERE” children
with things that makes it easeyer for them to sleep in that
extra hour. Save them that gas money. The wear on there vehicles.

      Hmmm.. How easy people forget.

CUT SCHOOL TAXES for people who don’t have children.

I want my tax dollars i have been paying for school tax
for the past 30 years.. I DON”T HAVE CHILDREN.

If you have a child.. Foot the bill for them to have there
needs for school. If people want to act like KM.
      How did she put it?

Quote: Taxpayers should not have to pay.
Let her foot the bill for her children for the
needs of school. I bet she would change her tune real fast.

  29. MAL says:

No one tells people to have children and let the tax payers
foot certain bills for them. It is a conscious choice to have
a child.. People are out of work because of actions of our
Government. Not actions of there owen.

    I don’t ever recall taking a loan out that i couldn’t
afford to pay back to the bank. But i am still paying the
price for the ones who did.
