UFC star Tito Ortiz denies assault
UFC Star Tito Ortiz denies assault to ex-playboy pornstar Jenna Jameson, after his release on bond on allegedly bashing her in a domestic violence attack.
Ortiz, 35, was arrested at his Huntington Beach home Monday morning and released on bond by late afternoon, police said. He was charged with assaulting Jameson, 36, his girlfriend and the mother of their 1-year-old twin sons.
“Tito Ortiz never laid a hand on Jenna, never,” his lawyer Chip Matthews told reporters
Matthews went on to say that the domestic problems stem from Jameson’s battle with an addiction to prescription drugs, specifically Oxycontin.
According to a Fox News report, Ortiz pleaded guilty to battery charges in 1998 and was sentenced to three years probation, 29 days in jail and 232 hours of community service.
UFC head Dana White said Ortiz’s career with UFC is in jeopardy if the allegations of domestic violence are true.
“We’re gonna be fair, but we could cut him,” said White.
White wants to wait until the police reports are in, but the UFC can take action even before the legal process runs its course.
“Other than going on a killing spree, being accused of domestic violence is the worst thing you can have going for you,” White said.Follow us on Twitter to get free up-to-date news via tweets from the World Correspondents, or you can subscribe to us by entering your e-mail below.
