Twilight Sequel Is Named 2011 People’s Choice – Vampire sequel The Twilight Saga: Eclipse has acquired eight nominations for next year’s People’s Choice Awards. The film is up for favorite movie and favorite drama.
Rapper and actress Queen Latifah will be hosting the ceremony which will be held on 5 January in Los Angeles, where prizes will be handed.
Twilight’s stars, Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner, have also landed acting nods. Apart from Twilight’s Robert Pattinson, other British stars to be nominated include Harry Potter star Emma Watson, who is up for favorite movie star under 25-year-old, and Hugh Laurie, who has two nominations for his role in medical drama House.
Meanwhile, in the TV categories, Britney Spears and Neil Patrick Harris were nominated for the TV guest star award for their appearances in Glee. Gordon Ramsay and Jamie Oliver will also compete in the favorite TV chef category.
In the music categories, Eminem, Carrie Underwood and Lady Gaga were also nominated.
Other multiple nominees include the hit US TV show Glee and singer Katy Perry, each of whom are up for five awards. Toy Story 3, Alice in Wonderland, Inception and Iron Man 2 will compete against Twilight: Eclipse for the favorite movie honor.
