The Toronto Raptors got 30 points from Andrea Bargnani and four other players with scoring double digits to beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 111-100 on Friday. The Raptors snapped out of a 13-game losing skid despite missing key players in their lineup.
DeMar DeRozan scored 20 points, Amir 19 points and grabbed 12 rebounds. Sonny Weems had 16 points while Jose Calderon had 6 points and a career-best 16 assists. Trey Johnson had 10 points off the bench for the Raptors.
Kevin Love, who was recently selected to replace the injured Yao Ming to start for the Western Conference All-Stars, had 20 points and 15 rebounds. Darko Milicic and Corey Brewer had 15 points each. Sebastian Telfair had 16 points while Wes Johnson had 10 points off the bench.
The Raptors have dominated the Wolves in nine of their last ten games. The Timberwolves have lost six straight games on the road, struggling with 2-23 in road games this season.
This was probably the reason for the near snub on Love who in spite of his 35th consecutive double-double almost did not make it to the 2011 NBA All-Star Game lineup. Most players voted for by fans and coaches are coming from winning teams.
