Tiger Woods Sets Sight On British Open
Three days to go and we will find out if Tiger Woods has indeed recovered from his recent personal crisis. Woods opened with a 5-under par opening round of 67 at the St. Andrews Old Course. He is currently four shots behind the leader Rory McIlroy who just fired a sizzling 9-under par, 63.
The score may not really reflect how Tiger played in the opening round as he also had some struggles with his tee shots, hitting the rough. There were also some missed short putts, the last one on the 17th. Overall, Tiger Woods’ opening round was far from perfect but he is in contention. Now this should get the competition worried if he improves in the succeeding rounds.
Tiger Woods has set his sights on a third Open Championship in St. Andrews. Another win would somehow soften the impact of the recent personal scandals that hounded him which forced him to leave the game for some time. It would also put him just a few major titles from tying with “The Golden Bear”, Jack Nicklaus.Follow us on Twitter to get free up-to-date news via tweets from the World Correspondents, or you can subscribe to us by entering your e-mail below.
