Tier 5 Extension and American Wants to Work Act Latest Updates
Tier 5 Extension and American Wants to Work Act Latest Updates – I know that many are tired about the same old news about the Tier 5 Extension and about the future of 99ers. The fact however is that the American Wants to Work Act which contains the Tier 5 extension for 99ers is clearly not a priority of the last remaining sessions of both the Congress and the Senate before the mid-term elections recess.
Who to blame? The Democrats? Well, for me I don’t think so because they had been working hard to pass bills for the unemployed, job opportunities and for 99ers however there are those who want to support the capitalists more than the people. I would not want to mention names but once these people get elected or their numbers increase in both the House and the Senate then you will see more of what is currently happening.
The senate had just passed recently the “Small Businesses Bill” last Thursday, September 16. Observers say that this is likely to be the last major piece of legislation by the Democrats.
The bill includes a multi-billion dollar package of tax reductions and government loans for small businesses that supporters say will encourage hiring and reduce unemployment. According to reports there are no plans to deal with unemployment extensions or Tier V before the Senate adjourns in about three weeks. The bill was passed by a vote of 61-38 with two Republicans supporting it, George V. Voinovich of Ohio and George LeMieux of Florida.
“Small businesses are the major job creators in our economy, and this legislation will ensure that our small businesses have the tax incentives and credit they need to expand and hire,” Senator Barbara Boxer, Democrat of California told The New York Times.
In response to this, One Nation Working together will be having a huge rally at the Lincoln Memorial on October 2. The rally hope to rally support for the Tier 5 extension support for 99ers which is embedded in the American Wants to Work Act.
“The One Nation March will feature human and civil rights leaders, labor leaders, environmental and peace activists, faith leaders, celebrities and sports figures – all marching together to help Put America Back to Work and to Pull America Back Together. And to help reorder our national priorities so that investments in people come first,” says March Organizers.
