Sandra Bullock’s Oscar Acceptance Speech

Sandra Bullock appeared very gorgeous in her attire as she walked up to the stage to receive her Best Actress Trophy and delivered her acceptance speech.

Sandra Bullock, the star of the movie “The Blind Side” won one of the most coveted Oscars Awards – The Best Actress. There was a stiff competition among co-nominees Helen Mirren of the “The Last Station”, Carey Mulligan of “An Education”, Gabourey Sidibe in “Precious”, and Meryl Streep in “Julie & Julia” but Sandra emerged as the winner among them.

In her speech, she thanked all her co-nominees for the Best Actress Award including the controversial Meryl Streep in which she had a kissing scene by saying “you know what I think of you and you are such a good kisser.”

Due to the 45-second time limit of the acceptance speech in Oscars, Sandra Bullock ended her acceptance speech by thanking her mom Helga Bullock for not allowing her to ride in cars with boys until she finally reached her debut age of 18.

One of the best closing remarks in her speech was addressed again to her mom thanking her for reminding her “that there’s no race, no religion, no class system, no color, nothing, no sexual orientation that makes us better than anyone else.”

Congratulations Sandra Bullock and more power to your career! I am very sure that with that Oscars Best Actress Trophy, a lot more movie offers will be coming your way.

Avatar vs The Hurt Locker Fans Discuss the Oscars 2010 Results

Technically, I would not really say “Fans” of Avatar and The Hurt Locker voted against each other.  Some of the people who commented here on our live blog shared their insights on the Oscars 2010.  If I were to tally the votes from the people who commented at World Correspondents I would say that the votes go half and half.

To the more unbiased people shared very deep insights about the results of the Oscars 2010.  Some movie critics think that The Hurt Locker indeed was a very good film but, the question that they ask is “How can The Hurt Locker be a greater achievement than the big movie Avatar that created a whole new buzz, a whole new world to our imagination?

Another movie reviewer said that The Hurt Locker and Avatar were very good films which are very hard to compare.  He thought that The Hurt Locker was more in-tune with the current world climate.  Hurt Locker is the real world, the one happening to our very own like the wars in Iraq.  Avatar, is just a fantasy world called Pandura.  Kathryn Bigelow really put something out there with great substance.

>> Sarah Jessica Parker seemed to disappear beneath her slim-fit Grecian pale yellow satin Chanel frock. She looks like the trophy.
>> Anna Kendrick looked drab and swamped her figure in a pale pink mousseline Elie Saab gown

Oscars 2010 Results: The Hurt Locker Sweeps 6 Oscars 2010 Awards

If the movie Slumdog Millionaire was last year’s movie which swept the most Oscars Awards, this year, the movie “The Hurt Locker” did it sweeping 6 Oscars 2010 Awards.

A lot of movie fans were shocked as the movie “Avatar” was defeated by the movie “The Hurt Locker” in a lot of categories.

In fact, “The Hurt Locker” topped the Oscars 2010 Awards getting 6 category awards as it won Best Director, Best in Film Editing, Best Motion Picture, Best in Sound Editing, Best in Sound Mixing, and Best Original Screenplay. This is against Avatar’s winning only 3 Oscars 2010 Awards as it won Best in Art Direction, Best in Cinematography, and Best in Visual Effects.

Interestingly, the two films which are contenders for the most number of Oscars 2010 Awards have a connection in that The Hurt Locker Director Kathryn Bigelow was the former wife of Avatar’s Director James Cameron.

Personally, I have already watched the movie “Avatar” and I could say that it’s one of the best movies I saw. No wonder why it topped the charts as one of the highest grossing film. However, I haven’t watched the movie “The Hurt Locker”.

Some movie reviews to “The Hurt Locker” said that the film was overly emotional and overrated and that it didn’t deserve to win a lot of Oscars 2010 Awards against Avatar. Well, upon topping the Oscars 2010 Awards list, I am now interested to see it also to know if it’s really worth winning the 6 Oscars Awards that it got.
