No. 13 Wisconsin Badgers Rally To Beat No. 1 Ohio State

The Ohio State Buckeyes suffered their first season loss in NCAA Men’s Basketball to the Wisconsin Badgers on Saturday. Down 15 points in the second half, Wisconsin leaned on Jordan Taylor to rally against No. 1 Ohio State for a 71-67 victory.

Taylor led Wisconsin with 27 points, 21 of which were scored in the second half to come overcome a 15-point deficit. He had 8 straight points in a 15-0 run that included two consecutive three-pointers.

The Badgers have also beaten the then No.1 Ohio State football team 31-18 this season.

Jon Leuer and Mike Bruesewitz added 12 points each for Wisconsin while Josh Gasser had 11 points. Wisconsin made 12 of their 24 attempts from the three-point area against 3 out of 9 made by Ohio State.

Analysts have given No. 13 Wisconsin a good chance of beating Ohio State given their solid home record. The Badgers seemed like established the Kohl Center as their fortress and they have been unbeatable at home. Wisconsin has 17 straight victories at home and is now 150-11 at home under head coach Bo Ryan.

William Buford finished with 21 points for the Buckeyes. Freshman sensation Jared Sullinger had 19 points and 12 rebounds for the Buckeyes.

Ohio State Buckeyes Rout Indiana Hoosiers

Buckeyes head coach Jim Tressel celebrated his 100th win as second-seeded Ohio State clobbered Indiana 38-10 on Saturday. The Ohio State Buckeyes remain unbeaten this season at 6-0 and 2-0 in the Big Ten conference. They have won twelve consecutive games and 16 in a row against the Hoosiers.

Buckeyes quarterback Terrelle Pryor tossed three touchdown passes, completing 24 out of 30 passes for 334 yards. The Heisman Trophy candidate Pryor hit scoring passes that covered 22 yards to Dane Sanzenbacher, 60 yards to Brandon Saine and 17 yards to DeVier Posey.

Dan Herron opened up the Buckeyes onslaught with a touchdown in the first minutes of play. Herron ran 68 yards on 12 rushes and added two touchdowns for the Buckeyes.

Hoosiers quarterback Ben Chappell was hounded by the Buckeyes all game, completing 16 of 26 for 106 yards and two interceptions. Indiana has been averaging 40 points, close to 350 passing yards and 455 total yards per game but the Buckeyes defense limited the Hoosiers offense.

Ohio State tallied 478 yards while Indiana piled up 210 yards which was less than half their 455-yard average.

No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes scored a 36-24 victory over No. 12 Miami (FL) Hurricanes on Saturday. It is the second win in as many games for the Buckeyes and they have pushed the ‘Canes to 1-1. Ohio State made life things difficult for Miami quarterback Jacory Harris, forcing him into four interceptions.

Ohio State quarterback Terrelle Pryor ran for 113 yards on 20 rushes, scored on a touchdown and passed for another. However, the Heisman Trophy candidate was inconsistent with his play, completing only 12 of 27 passes.

Devin Barclay scored five field goals for Ohio State. The Hurricanes took an early 7-3 lead after the first quarter. The Buckeyes began to dominate in the second quarter but the Hurricanes returned a couple of kicks for long scores.

Lamar Miller of Miami scored with an 88-yard kickoff return. Dan Herron scored a 4-yard touchdown for Ohio State in the second quarter and was quickly followed by Travis Benjamin returning a 79-yard punt to score the Hurricanes’ second touchdown for the game.

However, during the second quarter, Ohio State Buckeyes football team quickly grabbed the lead from Miami football team  scoring a hefty 23 points versus 10 points of the opponent. For the team of Miami, Matt Bosher made a 51-yard field goal.
