Byebye To Henna Tattoos, Hello To Real Gold Tattoos

United Arab Emirates calls no end for gold. With all these golden souks, gold-dusted cappuccinos and golden ATM machine that dispenses gold, another craze is set before the world, the golden tattoo.

For those who are fashion-conscious and money-no-worrier in Dubai, this latest body adornment is made from real gold.

Precious Skin, a new business in Dubai, is offering temporary 24-karat gold tattoos as the ideal body adornment for weddings and other special occasions at a modest starting price of $50, an affordable option given rising gold prices.

Precious Skin has two outlets in Dubai. They have one in the luxurious, sail-shaped Burj Al Arab hotel which will design and apply body tattoos made of 99.9% gold or platinum to add a bit of glitz to your personal style.

“It’s a revolution in the body art business, it’s the first time we can use 24-karat gold and platinum on skin,” said Arnaud Flambeau, managing director of Flambeau Luxury Trading and Precious Skin.

Originally a Japanese concept, Flambeau thought the idea would catch on in the Gulf, where many women have temporary henna tattoos applied for weddings and special occasions.

“We have had a lot of interest so far because it’s a new idea and a new product that’s between jewelry, makeup and accessories and it’s a lot easier to make the decision to get a gold tattoo than buy new jewelry,” said Flambeau.

A thin film of gold or platinum is used to make the tattoo which is then applied to the skin and can last for up to a week, he said.

“More elaborate and larger designs can cost up to $5,500, and the idea really is just to have something that is very unique and new,” Flambeau said.

“We plan to have a total of 25 branches in Dubai over the coming year and by January we will be in Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Bahrain.”

David Beckham Is Launching His Own Line Of Undies

Football Star and heartthrob David Beckham is launching his own underwear line.

Beckham has modeled briefs for world’s top designer Emporio Armani and would soon follow his wife Victoria Adams, former Spice Girls member, into the world of fashion and modeling once he has retired from “soccer”-ing.

According to a source, ‘David is 35 and knows he won’t be playing soccer forever. But he’s an icon for men all over the world and he wears pants like no one can – so it makes sense for him to launch his own.’

Beckham is currently playing for Los Angeles Galaxy. He is being supported in his plans by his manager Simon Fuller and fashion designer Stella McCartney’s husband Alasdhair Willis.

He also wants his wife, who has just launched her debut collection in 2008 and is now a well-respected member of the fashion world , to be deeply involved in the project.

The source added to the News of the World newspaper: ‘Alasdhair and Simon are focused on turning David into a major fashion presence. Victoria’s also very excited. She obviously thinks David is the sexiest man in the world and perfect to front the range.’

Pamela Anderson Calls Janet Jackson “Greedy”

Pamela Anderson slams Janet Jackson for agreeing to be the new face of the Blackglama line of minks.

Anderson has branded music icon Jackson “greedy” for signing up with the fur company further describing the singer’s 180-degree turn on animal rights issues as “disappointing”.

Aside from Anderson, also infuriated by Jackson’s move are the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) who labeled Jackson as “desperate” for having accepted the contract.

The snide remarks from Anderson and PETA came at the heels of Jackson’s team-up with BlackGlama to model the brand’s mink collection.

Anderson, probably the most visible and outspoken of PETA’s supporters, insists the singer should never have joined forces with the company. In a magazine interview, she chides Jackson further saying, “It’s disappointing. She has spoken out against fur before. I don’t know why some people stop listening to their heart. I guess some people get greedy, but it’s sad.”

Who are the Best and Worst Dressed in Oscars 2010 Red Carpet?

They say that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Beauty is subjective. Celebrities, as public figures, are constantly being criticized by people. The Oscars 2010 Awards is one venue to showcase the best designs in fashion. Fashion designers vie for the chance to design the dresses of various celebrities especially for females as they walk the famous red carpet aisle.

A person might consider the dress of a celebrity beautiful and appealing while others might consider the same to be dull and unappealing. With the Red Carpet of the Oscars 2010 Awards night already finished, who do you think was the best dressed and worst dressed celebrity?

I had the chance to watch the Oscars 2010 Red Carpet yesterday through my PC and based on my subjective judgment, here are some of the celebrities considered as best dressed and worst dressed.

Let’s start with Best Dressed for female celebrity:
No doubt Oscars 2010 Best Actress Winner Sandra Bullock was my favorite best dressed celebrity. Her dress mimics that of the Oscars statue in that metallic Marchesa gown. She looked very beautiful and elegant.

The simplicity of Bullock’s gown and her beautiful white skin complexion made me choose her as the best dressed in the Oscars.

In addition to her gown, her long shining hair added to the glamour of her dress. No wonder a lot of Oscars 2010 critics also chose her to be the best dressed in the Oscars Red Carpet. She was definitely a head turner during her entrance at the Red Carpet.  I bet that whoever designed for Sandra Bullock’s dress, he or she will definitely get a lot of designing contracts from other celebrities as well.

Congratulations Sandra Bullock not only for winning the most coveted Best Actress Award but also for winning the eyes of the Oscars 2010 spectators.

For the Best Dressed male celebrity:
I chose George Clooney for the Best Dressed male celebrity in the Oscars 2010 red carpet. Men’s standard costume in attending Oscars’ red carpet are black tuxedos.

What caught my attention was not so much of his costume but his personality towards his fans which added to the beauty of his costume. I saw him in the red carpet live stream signing autographs with his fans and shaking hands with them.

In addition, his girlfriend looked beautiful too. As a couple, they both looked great with their dresses. Despite his old age, George Clooney was still a favorite of movie fanatics.

Now for the Worst Dressed Celebrity in the Oscars 2010 Red Carpet:
For the worst dressed female celebrity, I would choose Gabourey Sidibe. Sorry Gabourey but you should start losing those fats. Had she shed some of those fats, she would have looked more beautiful with her dress. Her acting skills in the movie “Precious” are excellent though.

For the worst dressed male celebrity, I would choose Robert Downey Jr. Just looked at his shades, bow tie and shoes and definitely you would agree with me.

I really don’t know why he dressed in that way. Probably he wanted to be in the limelight as the worst dressed male celebrity in the Oscars 2010 Red Carpet.

This was just according to my subjective point of view in judging the dresses of celebrities in the recently held Oscars 2010 Awards. As I’ve said in the start, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. How about you, if you were to choose only one male and female celebrity for both the worst and best dressed in the Oscars 2010 red carpet, who would you choose?
