Prince William and Kate Middleton’s Engagement Announced
There has been a lot of rumors about the authenticity of this news but folks, the gossips and speculations behind the engagement of Prince William and his long time girlfriend Kate Middleton has finally been made clear. In way or another, several websites has been posting the details of the engagement and a few are posting that it isn’t true after all. However, reliable news sites, such as BBC and CNN has posted that it is indeed true.
From the news posted in BBC, Clarence House, the official residence of The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, and the Princes William and Harry has said that “Prince William has given his fiancee Kate Middleton his mother’s engagement ring”. It also added in their statement that “the wedding will take place in London in the spring or summer of 2011, in William’s home near Buckingham Palace and further details would be announced “in due course.”
“Prince William and Miss Middleton became engaged in October during a private holiday in Kenya,” the statement said. “Prince William has informed the queen and other close members of his family. Prince William has also sought the permission of Miss Middleton’s father.”
This very important announcement has delighted the Royal Family specially Prince William’s father, Prince Charles. “We’re obviously thrilled, they’ve been practicing long enough.“, said Prince Charles. Middleton’s parents are also very happy of the announcement and has obviously favored it. “They make a lovely couple, they’re great fun to be with and we’ve had a lot of laughs together, we’ve got to know William really well. We all think he’s wonderful and we’re extremely fond of him. We wish them every happiness for the future“, they said.
The couple met in 2002 at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland where both studied and dated each other a year later. Seven years is is quite long enough to finally settle down.
