Playstation Network Down: How to Fix PS3 Error Code 8001050F

All PS3 users around the world are annoyed of this latest error from PS3. The error code 8001050F is the so-called error of the century. John Morgan, an avid PS3 player said during an interview that “This is the worst Playstation 3 error that I’ve encountered so far and still, it has no fix from Sony for almost 24 hours now”.
Many PS3 users around the globe are now ranting in Twitter, Facebook, and other well-known social networks. This is really a big problem, specially when you’re a PS3 addict.
There are temporary fixes available in the web, but it will just waste your time. Just like this joke. At first, you thought it’s the fix that you’re looking for, but you’re just dragged into joke town.
To be honest, there’s no fix for error code 8001050F. All we need to do now is pray and be patient. Let’s do hope that God will help Sony fix this problem.
For the meantime, let’s just sit and relax and play offline games with our PS3. Just turn on your console and disable your router, so that it will not attempt to connect to the internet and you can play with your games offline.
I think people are getting their panties a little too twisted over this one. Sure, I was in the middle of an effing 36 hour marathon of Dragon Age: Origins, and stopped to make dinner, turned my shit back on and I got that 8001050F. Yes I’m aggravated. Just like most of you, I feel the pains of withdrawal from my favorite games, and yes, I’m a little miffed that my trophies are gone.
But to put it into perspective, I’ve had the thing for 2 years with no problems, I really can’t complain, as much as I’d like, but we all know the HeXBox360 is a steaming pile of crap as far as hardware is concerned, so can we really be bitchin at Sony as if they have made a pile as well?
I love conspiracy theories as well, but a purposefully implanted bit of code to force us to buy ps3 slims? I wouldn’t put it past a big corporation to do something like this, I’m sure they would, if they could get away with it, but they couldn’t…too many people would be really pissed at this point, too many people looking into the problem. And if they were going to do that, they’d have planned them to fail at different times so it didn’t look so suspicious…use your head people.
And just to add…my ps3 has never been connected to the internet, and I’m having the same prob, so it’s not the PSN, it’s software related.
There is an instant fix!!!
Go ot and buy a new slim PS3 system. The new model is not affected !!!!!!
I think there are many people who could benefit from this game down-time… perhaps use the time to learn something about spelling, syntax… that sort of thing…
Until then, having all the PSN trophies in the world just shows what an ignorant and useless cretin you are.
Can’t play MAG since the games require internet connection and Playstation Network account!

omg i just gotback from a trip and i wanted to play some cod 6 and rank up when allof the sudden the network is shut down i was like WTFFF whats wrong wit my ps3. but then i checked online and its not just my ps3 so i was like ohhh thank goodd i just hope sony fix it back so i can keep raping in cod6

Ok here is the funny thing for me i have my ps3 hooked to the net but i can not play my games even with it not hooked up to the net…i want to get the last 5 trophy for assassin creed 2 but it wont play the game tells me 8001050F (registration of the trophy information could not me completed)I’am i the only one geting this? lol whats going on i don’t play online with my ps3 unless its with a friend. and i have not seen a post about this part and now i can’t even play my ps3 games >.< Sony best get it fix or send us all NEW AND FREE ps3 for this or they may lose a lot PS fans like me
well there are still some games that work, as long as you got one of the games that had the trophies built into the disc and not backed up through the playstation network. like madden 2010 and start wars the force unleashed and army of two the 40th day still work for me

well i noticed it changed the date on my ps3 when i got it to december 31, 1999 at 6:35 P.M.. Did anybody notice this. i am not sure if it is key in the worm but i thought it was interesting when i saw it.

I dont know but this seems suspiciously viral, I say that because the network did not crash in one swoop, but it seems like it has affected people at different times. I am not saying PS has something tro do with it, but somebody might. Someone could hack into the Network and introduce a basic code to manipulate the time function

I think you should all chill man! Even if this was a conspiracy (and I don’t think it is) you have enjoyed a pretty much trouble free awesome entertainment console for more than two years! Shit, what do you get that lasts for two or three years these days? Not a lot. Think about it! Sony will fix it, until then disconnect your router and play on damn it!

yeah i just went out and bought an xbox.. ive had way to many problems w/ sony .. i would be playing MW2 online & i would always get signed off for no apparent reason .. i lose all the kills and points.. and now i cant even play Any game because they went & screwed things up i payed 400$ for my PS3 the day they came out i have the first 40GB…. ive been a loyal costomer for 3 years & this is wat i get? No im definitely not gonna spend another 300$ just so they can fuck it up again .. regardless if the slim is fine.. im not takin the chance..
Ok so we can theorize that the issue beings with a leap year miscalculation on Sony’s part.
This caused our date system to go bonkers, this then caused our systems to not sync properly with the PSN network, thus not connecting. And then finally any game that has trophy, the date and time of your system must sync with the trophy system which is synced with PSN.
My whole concern is how, a failure in an online sync process prevents us from playing our games offline. It makes you miss the PS2 really. Feels like online networks could a curse more than an improvement. Makes me fear this whole cloud systems that are being proposed.

this is so freakin’ b—s—!! it’s not even funny, im not that much of an addict but my dad on the other hand..yeah he’s a MW2 ADDICT…he thinks he’s so pro, but he got a 2 kill 22 death game, anyways, so i played my ps3 c0d6 (mw2) yesterday, then got the error the very same day, when he came home, he tried to play..but noooo it wouldn’t let him..so now…he’s having a spasm and getting mad at me…WAY TO GO S0NY..
There is a fix, just remove PS3′s internal battery and the problem is solved. Doing so, you will reset the internal clock and you will be able to use your console without any problems
I’ve figured it out every one. Turn you clocks back. I realized that when Dave said he never connected his ps3 to the inter net it had to be an error with scheduling so since every one had this problem last night I went into my ps3 settings and turned it to manual date and time the rolled back the date 1 month. And sure enough COD MW 2 is working at least off line. Go forth gaming brothers and thrive. Someone should give me a present for this.

@ sekon 51 yeah I played it I liked it got the best ending 1st time through was gonna go through it a 2nd time but than this shit happened w/the PlayStation 3 & now I can’t play it & lost all my trophies for heavy rain & heavy rain only & I better get them back or I’m trading it in.

IF YOU WISH TO KNOW HOW, PLEASE CONTACT ME AT ELITEfalconhush@yahoo.com !!!! i will tell you the basics. go into your “setings” and then go to resore default system. this may take about 5 minutes, but then it should ask you for your language and time/date. fill in correctly, and it should work if you try to sign in to PSN!!
