I am very sure you all noticed it. When you typed in, today’s Google Doodle features a mathematical image known as the Pi Day.

Pi is a very useful constant in Mathematics. It can be used in a lot of measurements most especially in the area of circles. As expressed, it starts with 3.14 and since today is March 14 (3/14), we are celebrating Pi Day.

In celebration of Pi Day, a lot of people eat different kinds of pies. Pizza has also been added in their menus as its also in the shape of circle. It was also noted that the first Pi Day celebration was held at the San Francisco Exploratorium in 1988 as they formed circle and eat fruit pies.

Well, I guess Pi Day is for the geeks and nerds to commemorate the discovery of this very important constant called Pi. This is also the day for math teachers to teach their students about the uses and importance of Pi. Happy Pi Day to all!
