LOS ANGELES, Calif. –Patrick Dempsey is going from doctor to action hero.
The actor, who plays Derek “McDreamy” Shepherd on “Grey’s Anatomy,” has signed on to star in “Transformers 3,” a rep for Paramount Pictures, the studio behind the film, confirmed to Access Hollywood on Tuesday. He is the latest addition to the growing roster of actors for Michael Bay’s third sequel in the Hasbro franchise.
Patrick will play the boss of Mikaela Banes, played by brunette beauty Megan Fox.Fox herself, has appeared on the Los Angeles set on Sunday, May 2 to do a pre-visualization before shooting begins in Africa, Moscow and China later this month. Paramount Pictures would like to have it in theaters across the U.S. by next summer, July 1 to be exact.
While in Brazil, Patrick Dempsey revealed to reporters that he’ll begin work on Transformers 3 later this month. He didn’t give any specifics on the role (no name or occupation) but he did say that he’ll be playing a “darker character.” The gates of speculation have now been opened. Patrick’s character is said to be very important to the drama in the third film.We doubt his character will be the main bad guy because John Malkovich is also in the movie and who in their right mind would waste his evil talents?
The story for Transformers 3 hasn’t been unveiled so we’re not sure who’s playing who or why. All we know is that the cast is getting too bloated and with the addition of McDreamy we’re even more worried about the plot. Along with Labeouf, Fox, Dempsey, Malkovich, Dunn, and White, Tyrese Gibson, Josh Duhamel, Ken Jeong, and Frances McDormand are all part of the cast.
