Top Rank promoter Bob Arum is composed and would not comment on why there was never a word from Floyd Mayweather Jr. as the deadline for the deal passed. This was so unlike the first time negotiations between Top Rank and Golden Boy Promotions for a super fight between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. failed. In the second attempt to put the two best boxers in the world on top of the ring, Pacquiao has even agreed to all terms of drug and blood testing. This time around there is no blaming one another but it appears that Team Pacquiao is set to look for another opponent for a November 13 fight.
Bob Arum mentioned that Pacquiao has a very hectic schedule especially now that he has taken on a new role as newly elected congressman in his hometown. This gives Team Pacquiao a very small window of opportunity to make a fight happen.
Right now they are looking fighting either Miguel Cotto or Antonio Margarito for a title shot in his eighth weight class. Once a match with either Cotto or Margarito is finalized, then Mayweather will have to wait until next year once again. That is if Mayweather really wants to fight today’s best pound for pound boxer.
