Pacquiao’s Concert in Hawaii Canceled: Poor Ticket Sales

March 18, 2010 by Sandy Winterfield · 3 Comments

There is somewhat truth in the saying that you really can’t have the glory of both worlds. The WBO Welterweight champion from the Philippines Manny Pacquiao has just canceled a concert in Waikiki, Hawaii this Sunday. It is not because he is going to be very busy in his victory parties but it is because of poor ticket sales.

The promoters of the concert call it off after selling only 603 tickets. The Hawaiians prefer to watch him fight inside the ring than to watch him hold the microphone and sing. He would be losing money from the canceled concert but it won’t be a big deal. He won $12 million last weekend after beating Joshua Clottey. His fans being a boxer is far more numerous compared to his fans being a singer. It truly proves that you really can’t have the glory of both worlds.
