Our Sun Belongs To A Spanish Woman
The sun that shines everyday to us and gives us the energy and heat that we need is not ours after all. Confusing? Yes, it is indeed confusing or better yet an insane idea. However, there is this woman from a region in Spain called Galicia who has claimed his ownership of our precious sun. She lives in Salvaterra do Mino.
In her statement submitted to the online edition of El Mundo, she stated that she had the sun registered to be hers. The document was notarized and she has been declared in there as “owner of the Sun, a star of spectral type G2, located in the centre of the solar system, located at an average distance from Earth of about 149,600,000 kilometres”.
She further stated that she will be collecting fees for whoever will be using the sun. Half of the proceeds would go the Spanish government while 20% will be alloted to the nation’s pension fund. Furthermore, another 10% would alloted for research, 10% for ending world hunger and another 10% for herself.
This idea came into her mind after knowing that an American man had registered to himself the moon and other planets. “There was no snag, I backed my claim legally, I am not stupid, I know the law. I did it but anyone else could have done it, it simply occurred to me first,” she said.
