The first three-team trade during this NFL offseason has involved Philadelphia Eagles, Denver Broncos and Detroit Lions. It has happened Monday when it involves Lions giving Sims to the Eagles, who then gave an undisclosed draft pick to the Broncos, who then shipped Scheffler to the Lions.
Ernie Sims, as being described by Lions former coach, Rod Marinelli, as being fast, punishing, sure-tackler. The Eagles would then be getting a talented, 25 year old, athletic linebacker. As to the Lions, getting Tony Scheffer would just fit their passing offense that they are building around quarterback Matthew Stafford and wide receiver Calvin Johnson. He wasn’t that happy in Lions though and he would be very glad to be playing back home. The Broncos however, has aimed to get a third-round pick from the Eagles but getting a fifth-round instead.
