New York Giants Win On Defense Against Chicago Bears, 17-3

The New York Giants displayed an awesome defensive game, knocking out Jay Cutler and Todd Collins as they beat the Chicago Bears 17-3 on Sunday. Although the Giants were not as impressive in their offense missing several scoring chances in the end zone, their defense was too much for the Bears to handle.

The Giants wound up with a total of nine sacks in the game with Justin Tuck and Osi Umenviora recording three each.

The Chicago Bears were held down to only 110 yards. Bears starting quarterback Jay Cutler was knocked down several times in the first half. Todd Collins left the game in the fourth quarter and the Bears had to tap Caleb Hanie to take over quarterbacking chores late in the fourth.

A 22-yard field goal by Lawrence Tynes in the first quarter highlighted an otherwise futile first quarter for both squads to give the Giants the lead, 3-0.

The second quarter saw Cutler sacked seven times. The score did not change as the Bears trailed at halftime, 0-3.

Ahmad Bradshaw scored a 3-yard touchdown in the third quarter to extend the Giants lead, 10-0.

Robbie Gould kicked a 40-yard field goal in the fourth to push the Bears closer at 10-3. Brandon Jacobs scored the final touchdown of the game with a 2-yard rush, 17-3.

Ahmad Bradshaw had 23 rushes for 129 yards on 23 carries and a touchdown.
