Netherlands vs Brazil: Brazil Out as WC Predicted

Earlier we have predicted the Netherlands vs Brazil game with the Dutch winning, 2-1. Now the game had ended and indeed the World Cup 2010 favorite and five-time champion Brazil is out of the game. Another stunner and another shocker for World Cup 2010.

PORT ELIZABETH, SOUTH AFRICA - JULY 02: Wesley Sneijder of the Netherlands celebrates the own goal by Felipe Melo of Brazil with team mates Dirk Kuyt and Arjen Robben during the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa Quarter Final match between Netherlands and Brazil at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on July 2, 2010 in Nelson Mandela Bay/Port Elizabeth, South Africa. Kaka failed to deliver the victory that everyone is sure to be expecting. What overpowered Brazil was the sheer superiority of the Dutch players and defense. Brazil was not able to get clear goals and if there is any Netherlands goalie saves it.

Brazil delivered an early goal on the 9th minute through Robinho and it was a long time before Netherlands found their rhythm and equalized on the 52nd minutes courtesy of Brazil’s Felipe Melo. But the Dutch was not contented, Wesley Sneijder made another goal in the 67th minute to take the lead.

Felipe Melo was lated sent off on the 73rd minute which brings more trouble for Brazil. He was sent off after stamping on Dutch striker Arjen Robben. Felipe Melo brought down Robben and stamped on him in the 73rd minute with Netherlands leading 2-1.

If there was one player who had caused the game for Brazil, it would indeed be Felipe Melo.

Now Netherlands awaits the winner of the next game between Uruguay and Ghana. As we are predicting again, Ghana will win 1-0.
