Last year’s NBA Rookie of the Year Tyreke Evans of the Sacramento Kings can be lightning fast on the basketball court. What we did not expect was that he can even be faster off the court.
The California Highway Patrol released a video showing Evans driving along Interstate 80. The video footage was shot from a plane at Memorial Day weekend. Officials of the California Highway Patrol claimed that Evans’ purple Mercedes Benz was speeding between 120 and 130 miles per hour.
The 20-year old basketball player was eventually stopped and arrested by officers at gunpoint. It appears that Evans was racing with another vehicle as he sped past several other vehicles along the interstate.
Evans entered a no contest plea to reckless driving according to lawyers representing him. His driver’s license has been suspended for thirty days and he was sentenced to eighty hours of community service dedicated to participation in teen driving programs.
