Mississippi Tornado Alert Update

The National Weather Service confirmed that a large twister just hit Valley Park, Mississippi this Saturday. Roy Wilson, a fire chief reported that around 20-30 houses were destroyed and trapped. Reports on injuries are not yet disclosed for the meantime, but the situation in Mississippi is in bad shape, specifically the Yazoo county area.

Meanwhile in the other parts of Mississippi like Valley Park, there are no injuries reported. Sports activies like the NASCAR Talladega were suspended and witnesses to the twister described it as ‘three quarters of a mile wide’.

In Warren County, police officials reported that communication lines were severly damaged and cut down as a result of the storm, which included cellular phone network access. The tornado also hit Louisiana and got bigger and faster upon landing in Issaquena.
