Michael Douglas, a.k.a Gordon Gekko, is finishing-up his last round of chemotherapy sessions for his stage four throat cancer, which was discovered only last summer.
After two taxing months of treatments, his friend and publicist Allen Burry tells us that Douglas’ prognosis looks good, saying, “He has his last treatment today, and they certainly haven’t scheduled any more.”
Burry added that Douglas will spend the next six weeks recuperating from the treatment and that he has high hopes for recovery. “He’s doing really well. I’m not quite sure what all of it means, but it sounds good to me.”
His doctors have given Douglas an 80 percent chance of survival and are said to be satisfied with progress in killing the malignant tumor that was discovered in Douglas’ throat.
Douglas, despite his ailment, still managed to hit the red carpet last month for the New York premiere of Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps. He was also seen out and about on Tuesday to take his 7-year-old daughter, Carys Zeta Douglas, to school.
