Miami Heat President Pat Riley is keen on keeping Dwayne Wade, one of the many high profile free agents this year in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Four years after winning his first NBA ring playing alongside Shaquille O’Neal, Wade and the Heat have struggled with the roster changes. Wade is now a free agent who may want to join a team that has potential to win a championship. Without any major shakeup in the Heat lineup, they will never be a contender.
Remember the Big Three of the Boston Celtics that won the NBA championship three years ago? It only seemed like yesterday when Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen played alongside each other to beat the LA Lakers in the 2008 season of the NBA. We might not get to see this next tri next season.
Instead, what we may see is another Big Three in Miami. Pat Riley seems interested in assembling Dwayne Wade, Lebron James and Amare Stoudemire as the core of his team next season. From a cost standpoint, this could be a challenge. However, the probability of winning a ring and foiling another Lakers three-peat could just well be enough motivation for them.
In the next few days, we will find out how it goes for Riley and the Heat.
