Mark Zuckerberg Donates $100 Million For Public Schools
The young billionaire Mark Zuckerberg, the founder of the famous social networking site Facebook has just donated an enormous amount of $100 million for the public schools of the Newark public school system. Such kindhearted act from a young rich guy as it is.
Zuckerberg has been ranked by Forbes’ annual list of the richest people in the world on the thirty-fifth position which is 7 spots higher that the CEO of Apple Steven Jobs on the 42th spot. Zuckerberg’s worth is reaching up $6.7 billion. He has been starting a foundation to help out the educational system. He will be guesting this Friday in The Oprah Winfrey Show for the announcement of his donation along with Newark Mayor Cory A. Booker and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie.
With such great act, there are still negative feedbacks brought by some people. Some were saying that Zuckerberg is giving away too little with all his earnings. Some people do believe that 10% of your earnings should be given to charity and what has Mark donated is just 1.5%. Others are also saying that the donation act is just a front for the promotion of the film The Social Network which will be opened on October 1st. It is a film about the history and foundation of Facebook.Follow us on Twitter to get free up-to-date news via tweets from the World Correspondents, or you can subscribe to us by entering your e-mail below.
