Margarita Recipes for Cinco De Mayo

January 18, 2015 by · Leave a Comment

It’s Cinco de Mayo and one of the things being done on this day is a Margarita drinking fest. If you’re interested in hosting your own Margarita drinking fest at home or parties, here’s a short and easy recipe for concocting the Mexican drink:

1 1/2 oz tequila
1/2 oz triple sec
1 oz lime or lemon juice

Rub glass rim with citrus juice and then dip in fine granulated sugar. Place all ingredients in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake 30 seconds and pour into glass.

You can also vary the flavors of the Margarita depending on the citrus fruits added. Here we also have the low-calorie version of the Margarita drink, the Skinny Margarita that’s just perfect for a guilt-free drinking spree:

Vodka or Tequila
Lime or lemon
Fresca, Mint leaves or Basil Leaves

Crush ice, add 2 vodka and fresca, crush mint leaves, squeeze lime and/or lemon. Add vodka to taste.
