Manny Pacquiao vs Joshua Clottey: Bio and Boxing Record

The much awaited boxing fight is already here. The Filipino pride Manny Pacquiao vs the Ghanaian Joshua Clottey. Let’s get to know more about their boxing career, the reason why their fight has been sought after by all.

Joshua Clottey, 33 years old from Ghana stands 5 ft 8 inches (172 cm). Born in Accra, Ghana he started his boxing fame after winning his first 20 fights and having 14 of which by way of knockout. During his Welterweight bout against Carlos Baldomir, he was already close to victory but was then disqualified by his head butts. He regained the title after winning the African Boxing Union welterweight division in his next fight. He fought against WBO champion Antonio Margarito but unfortunately wasn’t able bagged the win, yet he demonstrated a close fight. 4 months later, he defeated Diego Corales, the last fight of Corales before his death. 8 months after that, he defeated Shamone Alvares followed by defeating Zeb Judah and getting the IBF welterweight title. He fought against Miguel Cotto for the WBO welterweight title giving Cotto a very close fight, he wasn’t able to win though. And now he will facing Manny Pacquiao, the one who defeated Cotto 5 months after their fight.

Manny Pacquiao is no longer a “no-one” in the boxing world. The first ever in the world who got 7 division titles in the event of boxing. Known to be the number 1 pound for pound boxer in the world as rated by the Ring Magazine. A true blooded Filipino and born in Kibawe, Bukidnon, Philippines and having a full name of Emmanuel Dapidran Pacquiao. This 31 years old champion has boxing record of 50 wins, 38 by way of knockout, 3 losses and 2 draws. He started his professional boxing career when he was just 16 years of age and weighed 106 pounds. His weight that time is only for Lightweight Division. He managed to advance pound for pound until he reached his 7th division title which is the Welterweight. He has been known to be The Mexicutioner wherein most of the division titles were won over a Mexican.

    I think this fight is gonna be a though one but at the end i expect Joshua to win

    Im from Ghana and i dont think Joshua Clottey will win this flight….
