Like.com is now officially acquired by the internet search giant Google
The first to bring visual search shopping online is now officially owned by Google. Munjal Shah, CEO & Co-Founder of Like.com proudly announced in their website that they are now acquired by Google.
Like.com has an average world wide Alexa traffic of 10,500. It spiked to 1000 for a single day last August 16, 2010, after numerous websites reported about Google’s plan to acquire Like.com.
According to Alexa.com, Like.com has been online since 1995. After 15 years of hard work and providing great service online, they have finally caught the attention of the internet search giant.
“We see joining Google as a way to supersize our vision and superchange our passion. This is something that we are really exciting about”, says Munjal.
Seth Weintraub of CNN Money thinks that acquiring a multi-million dollar website like Like.com makes Google dominate the eCommerce industry.
Buying Like.com is a great move for Google, even if they obviously cannot compete with eBay or Amazon right now, I think Google will do a major overhaul to the website to match the pace of the eCommerce giants in the months to come.Follow us on Twitter to get free up-to-date news via tweets from the World Correspondents, or you can subscribe to us by entering your e-mail below.
