LG Joins the Android World with its LG Optimus (LG GT540)

This is in an expected news anyway. It is just normal for a mobile phone maker to keep up with what’s new and makes sure that they’ve got the best version ever. With all the Android phones popping out, LG electronics will not just sit back and watch their rivals produce such phones. They’ve their own LG Optimus or the LG GT540. This is yet another member which joins the android family.

LG has labeled their gadget as the most affordable yet fashionable Android-powered smartphone. For only P12,900 ($286), it is indeed cheap. It runs on version 1.6 of the operating system, but is upgradeable to the current version 2.1. LG Optimus comes with a 3 megapixel camera that supports geo-tagging, auto face-tagging and “face-to-action” technology that allows the user to create and share multimedia content from the phone. It has a built-in video editor with storyboard function, which allows the users to add music and text to videos directly on the phone.

Just as what smartphone users are enjoying in their phones, LG Optimus allows them to be updated with their favorite networking sites like Facebook and Twitter as it offers integrated access to social networking sites (SNS) in convenient platform. One feature that it has been proud of is its ability to play DivX and Xvid videos directly without separate encoding.
