It may sound odd but the lawsuit is true. The socialite Paris Hilton was sued for wearing wrong hair extensions. Hairtech International Inc filed the case and said that Hilton breached her contract to wear and promote their product after wearing its competitors extensions in 2008.
All in all, the company wants to be paid with $35m (£22.4m) for damages. Sad to say, this amount is 10 times what the socialite was originally paid. In addition to this, she also missed a launch party to celebrate the line in hair extensions back in 2007 because she was in prison, causing the company to lose $6.6m (£4.2m). This was the time wherein Paris served 23 days after she was twice caught driving on a suspended licence while on probation for reckless driving.
This is not the first time that Paris was sued due to her promotional duties. Way back in 2008, she was also sued by the producers of National Lampoon’s Pledge This! sued the star for failing to properly promote the comedy.
It seems that Paris has been too busy to think about her obligations better yet she should be responsible on what she’s been up to. It pays to be rich and famous. You’ll get a lot of promotional offers but along with it is a big responsibility that you need to put in mind.
