More and more IT companies nowadays are increasing their investments in Research and Development to enhance and produce more innovative products to provide to their customers.

Google earlier announced its development of a broadband service which they claimed to be about 100 times faster than the ones we are using right now. This was followed by a much anticipated announcement of Cisco, the leader in networking and virtualization solutions, which caused its stock to rise as investors grabbed the product to be announced as “that will change the internet forever.”

After the much buzz about Cisco announcement, Cisco finally unveiled the CRS-3 Carrier Routing System. The said new routing system developed by Cisco sticked to its promise of changing the internet forever because it allows a fast video transmission communication between mobile devices and the internet.

With its astonishing speed of 322 Terabits per second, downloading huge files is as easy as 1-2-3. In fact, as Cisco claimed, with this new routing system, the “entire printed collection of the Library of Congress can be downloaded in just over one second.” Wow! Can you imagine how fast is that?

However, the price of this new routing system announced by Cisco is astonishing too because it is very expensive commanding a price of US$ 90,000 per unit. Let’s just wait for further reviews on this new Cisco’s CRS-3 Carrier Routing System as more and more companies most especially telecommunications companies try to buy this innovative product to enhance their services.

I guess this new Cisco announcement is one of the reasons why Cisco recently broke its global alliance and partnership with HP. Can HP compete with this new routing system product from Cisco? Well, I still don’t know but with HP’s recent acquisition of 3Com, definitely there is a possibility.
