LA Lakers Get Past Oklahoma City Thunder 90-87
The Los Angeles Lakers moved further away from the Oklahoma City Thunder in the Western Conference standings by beating the Thunder 90-87 on Sunday. The Lakers’ starting big men finished with double-doubles to keep their firm hold of third spot and moving four and a half games ahead of Oklahoma City.
The Thunder had the chance to tie the game in the final seconds when Lamar Odom missed two free throws but Kevin Durant and James Harden missed their three-point attempts.
Pau Gasol had 18 points and 11 rebounds while Andrew Bynum finished with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Kobe Bryant finished with 17 points and seven assists for the Lakers.
New Thunder acquisition Kendrick Perkins form the Boston Celtics has not seen action due to a sprained knee but he could provide the interior muscle in the playoffs.
Russell Westbrook paced the Thunder with 22 points while Durant finished the game with 21 points. Thabo Sefolosha scored 10 points while Harden had 14 points off the bench.
