Barely a day has passed since it came out on the World Correspondents that Ellen DeGeneres is bidding American Idol goodbye — now it is Kara DioGuardi’s turn to leave – albeit not by her own choice, according to reports.
Again, “according to reports”, DioGuardi, a Grammy-nominated songwriter, got fired. I have yet to get wind of DioGuardi’s official statement on the matter.
This brings the American Idol judging scheme back to just three judges.
From what I gathered from the DeGeneres piece, DioGuardi has a year-to-year renewable contract with American Idol, so maybe negotiations for this upcoming season did not fall through – or the shows think-tanks really believe American Idol desperately needs a major overhaul.
Whatever the reason is, it seems we have seen the last of Kara DioGuardi on American Idol. Rumor has it that Jennifer Lopez and Aerosmith frontman, Steve Tyler, are set to come in for the upcoming season.
Randy Jackson, has so far been retained as one of the three judges.
Or maybe, we will have another shocker for you by tomorrow. At the rate the show is changing judges, I will not be surprised if something comes up again as soon as I have posted this article.
