The Golden State Warriors are about to sign former Harvard hoop star Jeremy Lin. As a senior, the 6-foot-3-inches and 200-pound Lin played shooting guard averaging 16.4 points, 4.4 rebounds, 4.4 assists, 1.1 block and 2.4 steals per game. He will likely be playing point guard in the NBA especially now that the Warriors have lost C.J. Watson to the Chicago Bulls.
Lin played for the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA Summer League as an undrafted rookie. The Mavericks and Lakers were considering him in their roster for a backup role but it appears that the Warriors are now closer to a deal.
Lin grew up in the Bay Area where as a Palo Alto High standout he has been a Warriors fan. Of Taiwanese descent who was born and raised in California, he could join fellow Asian players in the NBA Yao Ming of the Houston Rockets and Yi Jianlan of the Washington Wizards.
