Jeanne Calment Holds World Record for Oldest Person Ever Lived

March 9, 2010 by · Leave a Comment

The bible times are over. We are now in modern times. It was said in the Bible that Methuselah is the oldest person who ever lived at the age of 969 years. However, that claim cannot be verified as no one of us now ever lived before.

Nowadays, because of so many toxins brought about by advanced technology such as processed foods coupled with a busy lifestyle, longevity seems to be an issue. People are lucky if they reached the age of 90 or even a century old.

So during our modern time now, who is considered as the oldest person ever lived here on earth? According to Guinness Book of World Records, the authority in setting world records, Jeanne Calment is still the oldest person ever lived here on earth at the age of 122 years old.

Accordingly, birth and death records of Jeanne Calment show that she was born on Feb. 21, 1875 and died at the age of 122 years old on Aug. 4, 1997 in France.

I wonder how was it to be living up to that age. Probably I would have a lot of illnesses due to old age if I reached that age. However, it would still be amazing to have your name printed in record books in case you lived up to beat the 122 years old age – the age of oldest person ever lived.
