Indian Cricketer MS Dhoni Signs Great Rights Deal – The newly-married Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has signed the biggest marketing deal ever made by an Indian sportsman. The deal with sports management company Rhiti Sports amounts to $42m for two years.

The company will manage his endorsements, merchandise, advertising rights, digital rights and also his appearances on social networking sites. Rhiti general manager Sanjay Pandey told the Press Trust of India news agency that they signed the contract a week back and from now onwards, they will be handling Dhoni’s endorsements.

MS Dhoni has had a lot to celebrate in recent days. He was married earlier this month to his childhood sweetheart Sakshi Singh Rawat at a private ceremony outside northern town of Dehradun and he also celebrated his 29th birthday.

The deal surpasses Sachin Tendulkar with sports management firm Iconix. The deal was worth $40m for over three years from 2006.

The Indian Cricketer is currently reported to endorse about 22 leading brands which include Pepsi, Reebok, Aircel, Godrej and Hersheys.
