Hurt Locker VS Green Zone

March 10, 2010 by Sandy Winterfield · 1 Comment

After the great success of The Hurt Locker in 82nd Academy Awards, there is no way that people won’t be having a close look to the Best Picture film. Aside from that, the film was directed by the Oscar’s declared Best Director Kathryn Bigelow.

The title Hurt Locker is a slang counterpart of the statement “”a place of ultimate pain”. The story of a person who has been injured because of an explosion. The major cast is part of the US Army Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD) unit in Iraq who could no longer stand up with pressure it brings.

On the other hand, another Iraq War-related film released its trailer lately, the Green Zone. It is starred by Matt Damon playing the character of Chief Warrant Officer Roy Miller. He was being sent to the unstable region to hunt for Weapons of Mass Destruction. The Green Zone (The common name for the International Zone of Iraq, also known as the Emerald City).

It is inevitable that the two films are being compared because it has the same plot. It showed what’s the real situation Iraq has.

Green Zone is too similar to the Bourne series and they just had to use the same actor. SMH
