HTC EVO Embraces Froyo Days From Now

The only 4G phone, HTC EVO as being distributed by Sprint will be starting to have the Android 2.2.Sprint will start to spread the upgrade on EVO by August 3 as have been announced in the carrier’s web site Thursday night. By the middle of the month, all users would surely have the software.

For EVO users, notifications would be sent to you if the upgrade is already available. The software will then be sent to your device for automatic installation. According to Sprint you can also manually download the upgrade starting Tuesday: Simply select the “HTC Software Update” option in the “System Updates” section of the phone’s main settings menu to force the process to begin.

Running the Froyo in your EVO 4G would mean several awesome changes. This would include new home screen widgets, a “flashlight mode” for the phone’s camera flash, and improvements to the phone’s video recording capabilities. More storage room for applications, Camera 4-way rotation and Improved Browser Performance including a faster JavaScript engine and Flash 10x Support. All of these were enlisted in the memo of the upgrade in the Sprint’s site.

HTC EVO is the first android phone to have the Froyo because Google’s Nexus One already have it late last month but it is the first phone that upgrade was being provided by the carrier.

This added feature to this awesome phone would surely be making its users happier.
