Today, September 19 2010 is Talk Like a Pirate Day!  People are just having fun celebrating it every year and pretending to be a Pirate for at least a day.  People celebrate Talk Like a Pirate Day by doing many things.  One, talk like a pirate! Duh! Two, dress up like a pirate.  Of course, it’s one reason to celebrate so people drink to the celebration.

Now, a lot of people don’t know the history behind the Talk Like a Pirate Day and how it started.  International Talk Like a Pirate Day, which we celebrate now September 19, 2010, was created by John Baur and Mark Summers.  They both have pirate name of course, Ol’ Chumbucket and Cap’n Slappy respectively.  This celebrations is just pretty new as it was only created in 1995 as a parodic holiday.  No worries right?  It’s more reason to celebrate!
