Harry Potter is the new Richie Rich
DANIEL Radcliffe and his ‘Harry Potter’ co-stars have dominated the list of Britain’s richest young stars.
The actor, who has the title role in the hit wizard movie franchise, was named fifth richest in the young millionaires category in the Sunday Times Rich List, with a fortune of £42 million ($70 million).
Emma Watson, who plays Hermione Granger, was placed joint 10th with a £22 million ($37 million) fortune.
Rupert Grint, who plays Ron Weasley in the saga was placed 12th in the list with an estimated £20 million ($34 million) wealth.
The list compares the earnings of stars aged under 30.
Former Harry Potter actor Robert Pattinson, who played Cedric Digorry has gone on to find success as Edward Cullen of the Twilight series of films, is placed 14th on the list with a £13 million ($22 million) fortune.
The top spots on the young millionaires list were taken by inheritors and businessmen.
“They have all still worked very hard for their places on this list, and it shows the once again healthy state of the British film industry.”
J.K. Rowling, who penned the series of children’s books on which the movies are based, topped the author’s list with a fortune estimated at £519 million.
Pirates of the Caribbean star Kiera Knightley was also rated highly on the young rich list with an estimated fortune of £28 million ($47 million), earning her seventh place.
