Hampton vs Delaware State Football ESPN Coverage – Hampton made their third straight NCAA football victory by defeating Delaware State, 20-14.
These two teams might not be as big as the game between Texas A&m and Oklahoma State but this is a game worth the effort. Delaware State vs Hampton, a game of two teams in opposite directions.
Delaware State Hornets had to win one game yet in the NCAA 2010-2011 season. All of its previous games are losses and they are just looking for their first win. The Hampton Pirates meanwhile are on a 2-game winning streak after their initial opener loss to Central Michigan. They are upbeat and will never back down.
The game is now on going and live through ESPNU. Meanwhile here is are broadcast partners Charlie Neal and Jay Walker talking about the recent loss of the Delaware Hornets to Southern University, 37-27.
GAME UPDATE: We are now in halftime and both teams have not scored any touchdowns or field goal yet. The first touchdown was scored by Hampton with 37 seconds remaining in the Third Quarter courtesy of a 1 yard from David Legree rush. The extra point was missed by Rodrigo.
Delaware State seems to be aware that the tempo of the game had changed and as the fourth quarter starts they immediately scored a touchdown to take the lead 7-6.
Hampton however, would not let their winning streak be worn out by a loosing Delaware State. After the first touchdown of Delaware State, Hampton scored two successive touchdowns and take a major lead against Delaware State 20-7 with just about seven minutes remaining in the game.
Delaware did score another touchdown but it was too late in the game. The final score was 20-14 and Hampton is now 3-1.
