Oscar-winning actress Halle Berry and French-Canadian model Gabriel Aubry have decided to end their five-year romance but will remain on good terms for the sake of their two-year-old daughter Nahla.
“They are working well together and are handling parental duties without conflict,” femalefirst.co.uk quoted a source as saying.
The following statement was issued to Access Hollywood exclusively from Aubry through his agency, Wilhelmina Models.
“While I will not comment on all of the wild inaccuracies being speculated about in the media, I am sad to say that Halle and I have decided together to separate at this time,” Aubry wrote.
“She is, and will forever be one of the most special and beautiful people that I have ever known, and I am certain that we will continue to have only love and respect for one another. We have been blessed with the most amazing daughter in the world, and her happiness and well-being are the most important thing for both of us. Please respect our privacy during this very difficult time.”
Berry has been married twice before. Her first marriage, to former professional baseball player David Justice, ended in 1997 over allegations her abused her and her marriage to singer Eric Benet ended in 2003 due to his infidelity.
Berry and Aubry began seeing each other in November 2005 after meeting at a Versace.
