General Motors has announced to stop the production and sale of their heavy duty vans Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana. About 5,000 vans has been recalled due to engine failure “until a fix to the faulty alternator can be determined”. There has been a statement from GM saying that those owners who purchased the van between February and March this year has to stop driving it, part it outside away from buildings and other vehicles and if possible disconnect both battery cables.
Few of the vehicles were sold on retail and about 1,300 are in rentals and other group. Fortunately, there has been no reports of accidents that has been reported in relation to the recalled vehicles.
