FDA Egg Recall List 2010: List of Recalled Egg Brands Due to Salmonella Outbreak- About 380 million eggs are included in the initial egg recall list issued by FDA and they had affected people, as well as businesses. Americans are now worried about buying eggs and most of them are avoiding eggs in general because of the possible contamination of the Salmonella bacteria.
During the month of May and July alone, almost 2,000 infection of the salmonella strain found in the egg recall list had been reported. About a thousand or more people are reported to have been infected but are not yet reported by health officials.
The CDC is continuing its monitoring of the extent of infection caused by the salmonella outbreak in the United States. Eggs from Wright County Egg are the source of the salmonella infection, although state health officials say that not all of their eggs are affected. Particular brands included in the FDA egg recall list include Lucerne, Albertson, Mountain Dairy, Ralph’s, Boomsma’s, Sunshine, Hillandale, Trafficanda, Farm Fresh, Lund, Dutch Farms, and Kemps.
In addition, FDA also issued another statement about the Salmonella contamination of eggs from Hillandale Farms, a company located also in Iowa. The egg brands from this egg farm joining the egg recall list are Hillandale Farms, Sunny Farms, Sunny Meadow, Wholesome Farms and West Creek.
