Endometrial Cancer is Dixie Carter’s Cause of Death

A lot of people were shocked upon hearing that Dixie Carter, best known for her role in the sitcom Designing Women as Julia Sugarbaker, was announced death.

In in the initial onset of the news, no initial findings were concluded as to the cause of her death. Apparently, after examinations of her body, it was found that it was Endometrial Cancer.

With probably thousands of terms relating to the disease cancer, what is this Endometrial Cancer? According to medical terms, Endometrial Cancer refers to several types of malignancy which arise from the endometrium, or lining of the uterus. It may sometime be referred to as uterine cancer.

Abnormal uterine bleeding, anemia, and lower abdominal pain are among the signs and symptoms of Endometrial Cancer. Women with high levels of estrogen, diabetes, obese, and abnormal menstruation are prone in this disease.

A Pap smear is one of the early clinical evaluation used by doctors to evaluate a woman if she has Endometrial Cancer.
