After just one season as an American Idol judge, Ellen DeGeneres is leaving the show.
“A couple months ago, I let FOX and the ‘American Idol’ producers know that this didn’t feel like the right fit for me,” Ellen said in a statement issued to Access Hollywood on Thursday. “I told them I wouldn’t leave them in a bind and that I would hold off on doing anything until they were able to figure out where they wanted to take the panel next.”
To me this is quite understandable, I am a huge fan of Ellen DeGeneres (and she is one of the reasons why I watch American Idol) and I find her to be such a nice and sincere person to be in the business of “judging” people.
She is known for her kind-heartedness at discovering and opening doors to new talents from all over the World that I think she finds it hard to hurl “criticisms”, even constructive ones, at those trying to find their place under the Hollywood sun.
Although she is leaving, Ellen said she is thankful for the experience and will continue to support and be a fan of American Idol.
I, on the other hand, will continue to be a fan Ellen DeGeneres. She is such a good-natured person, and I love how she loves her mom, too.
