It has been confirmed late Friday (September 3) that Kara DioGuardi would be leaving her post in Idol. It has been speculated less than 2 months ago that she has been fired. However, Kara cleared out everything now. “I felt like I won the lottery when I joined American Idol two years ago, but I feel like now is the best time to leave Idol,” DioGuardi said Friday. “I am very proud to have been associated with American Idol –- it has truly been an amazing experience.”
Kara joined Idol way back 2008 as the fourth judge joining Randy Jackson, Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul. Kara is a renowned songwriter and daughter of former Westchester GOP Congressman Joseph DioGuardi. The reason behind her departure in Idol were not cleared. She has been very grateful of becoming a member of the show. “I am grateful to FOX, FremantleMedia and 19 Entertainment, as well as the cast, crew and contestants, for all they have given to me,” she said. “I look forward to my next challenge, and want to thank everyone who has supported me. All the best to everyone on Season 10!”
Her departure would mean emptying one spot for the judges and rumors has been spreading that Jennifer Lopez would be replacing her. Negotiations are still on going on and FOX hasn’t commented on it yet. Along with DioGuardi, Ellen DeGeneres would also be leaving so as Simon Cowell. J.Lo has been rumored to be joined by the rocker Steven Tyler on the panel with Randy Jackson.
