Free agent receiver Terrell Owens is set to joining his fifth NFL team in the Cincinnati Bengals. This was disclosed earlier on NFL Network by Owens’ agent, Drew Rosenhaus. The Bengals expect Owens to report to training camp in Georgetown, Kentucky by tomorrow or Thursday. Terms of the one-year deal were reportedly worth $2 million in salaries and an additional $2 million in incentives.
The Jets were earlier reportedly interested in Owens but they never really made progress in acquiring the 36-year old receiver. Owens played one season with the Buffalo Bills and has been looking for a new team.
Bengals receiver Chad Ochocinco, one of Owens’ close friends, urged the team to sign up Owens. Upon hearing of the news that the Bengals and Owens have come to an agreement, Ochocinco posted the news on his Twitter account to welcome his new teammate.
Will Ochocinco and TO form another dynamic duo? Their VH1 stint showed they could be Batman and Robin on reality TV. We are close to seven weeks from finding out if they can do the same in Pro Bowl.
