Chris Isaak to Replace Simon Cowell as American Idol Judge?

Chris who? Sorry, but I really don’t know the dude. I do know the “others” who were also considered, approached, offered or even asked (e.g., Harry Connick Jr., Bret Michaels, Howard Stern, Donald Trump, etc) to take over the American Idol judge’s seat being vacated this season by Simon Cowell, but I really don’t know who this guy is.

According to E! Online, “Isaak’s TV credits include his trippy showtime comedy Chris Isaak Show and some appearances on Smallville and Cold Case”.

Reports say auditions for the new American Idol season have already begun with guest judges doing the grilling of this year’s crop of singing idol hopefuls since the new full-time judge has yet to report for work. The announcement of who it will finally be is set to be made in September.

Personally, I think Harry Connick, Jr. would be a perfect fit based on his stint as a mentor last season.

Cowell left American Idol last May to focus on his own Fox talentshow, X-Factor which is set to premiere on August 2011.
